Day 104

Rib-it! Being a big girl is so much fun! I get to wear really cute clothes now! Below: Faith sleeping in her oxygen hood. She is receiving oxygen through her cannula, the hood is putting out a warm mist (much like a humidifier) to help the swelling in her airway.

Well we made it- we are in the home stretch! When the doctors come to talk to us now it is about preparing Faith to come home. They have begun to wean her oxygen settings- which still
have a far way to go before she can come home, but the point is that we are getting there. Faith is now a little over 5 pounds! She has quadrupled her birth weight (1 pound 6 ounces). She is an entirely different baby.
Her feedings have been going better. It just takes her a while. She drinks about 2 ounces every 4 hours. It takes her about 40-50 minutes to take down each feeding. We have learned the key with Faith is to have lots of patience. Which isn't a bad thing to practice- this little girl teaches us a new lesson every day!
Well thanks for checking in on our little sweetie today!

What Wonderful news!! Both my girls were @ 5+ lbs when they were born so I know what that looks like. What a blessing and such a relief. You have climbed the Mount Everest of emotions and are now in the beautiful green valley's of healing and growing. SO happy for all of you! Mangiare il Bambina Mangia (eat baby eat)

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me lie down in green pastures;
He leadeth me beside still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
Even when I walk in the valley of darkness, I will fear no evil for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff-they comfort me.
You set a table before me in the presence of my adversaries; You anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows.
May only goodness and kindness pursue me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for length of days.

This little baby just makes me smile each time I see her!!! I was actually sitting here feeling bad for myself, having a pretty crummy day... but what a sweet little reminder Faith is of all things glorious from God! The prayers are still coming!!! Can't wait to celebrate with you all when faith gets to go home with her mommy and daddy!!
