A day for the books

Dear Faith,

Today was an exciting day.

During occupational therapy it "looked" like you did the sign for "more." We have been working on this for a year now. The fact that you put your hands together when prompted for "more" was such an accomplishment!

And then....

This evening after dinner I went out to run a few errands. I got a call from your daddy (usually this means he can't find something....) I dug to the bottom of my purse (which always takes the entire rings..) and answered. I was in shock. I rushed home. And I saw it for myself.......

Yes, it's true.

Tonight you crawled your first crawl. This is something we thought you'd never do. It's something we let go of a long time ago. It's something you proved us wrong on. You go girl!

Here's another shot just in case you don't believe.....

What an exciting day! We could not be more proud of you, Faith. Today truly is a day for the books. Who knows what you WILL do next!

We love you little crawlie bug,

Mommy ( & Daddy too).

PS: It's time for you to get off the vent now girly- or it's time to get a longer extension cord! ;) (Advice, Janay?!)

PSS: Our apologies for the poor video quality. We are still living in the stone ages of the digital camera world.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!! Look at you go, I am so proud of you Faith!! I knew you could do it, you little guys just do it on your own time line when us big people least expect it :0) Jen, how fast did you drive home? I'm sure I would have broken many speed limits if I were you.

Ummm, my advice is longer extension cords...I think we ended up with 2 of them before he was let loose.

I am so excited for all of you, the video brought a tear to my eye because I know what a huge thing this is!

Love ya,
Janay

WTG Faith! I totally didn't expect to see that this morning, but I'm thrilled I did. Your Mommy and Daddy better get ready now, you will be into everything! I'm so happy for you, Jen. I know this means far more to you than you could put into words.

Dear Jen,
I cried when I read this for the first time, I cried when I told my husband about it at breakfast and I cry as I write to you now. In her own time, Faith will work miracles. Enjoy the moment and tell those brothers of hers to watch out! I am SOOOOOOOOO happy for you all!
With love,
Karen

Jen, and Brian,

I am an early childhood special education teacher in Atlanta (about ya'lls age) and work with children 3-6 some of which have been medically fragile. I have really enjoyed reading your blog and following your absoultely gorgeous daughters progress!!! Wahoo for crawling yesterday.

I think it is my mission in life to help parents of children with special needs find a safe haven, somewhere to go, talk, rest, relax while being provided with appropriate care for children at home. It sounds like Denver has a good parent support network, do you mind elaborating? Holly (hol~)

Out Little Miracles ALWAYS figure out a way prove us wrong. We as parents of preemies sometimes think the day will never come when our little one will ever sit up, crawl, walk, etc. and then one day they just surprise us.
Just watching the videos brought tears to my eyes seeing how happy Faith is knowing she has more freedom of roaming around on her own. Congrats little butterfly...you are starting to explore on your own and starting make mommy's and daddy's work a little harder.
This past week Rylie finally stood up on his own with out using any type of furniture or person to help him. It was truly a blessing...I was starting to think he would never stand on his own.
Jen and Brian, I admire you both for never losing your Faith in God, your strength, your love for each other and for being the most amazing parents...Faith is one very Blessed little girl.

Always in our thoughts and prayers,

Charlene (Derrick and Rylie)

What a wonderful video to watch at the end of a very long week for me. Thank you Faith ... you made my day! Jen, based on what I've seen with other kids, with each milestone Faith reaches, she is that much closer to getting off the vent. Hang on, I have a feeling Faith is ready to take off!

Love,
Ann
